Natural light is something granted for many, but for us Seattlelites it is life support. Which is why the first thing I did when I staged this master bedroom was to let the natural light in. I removed the valances, which not only gave an outdated look, but also partially kept the light from coming in, and tied the curtains up with a ribbon. If you consider that this was a north facing bedroom, then you can understand why the whole curtain make-over was really necessary to make the room more appealing and bright.
Home staging tip: “Always let the natural light in, especially in north facing rooms”.
PS:
This is the very first master bedroom I staged: I volunteered to help a friend of mine selling his home in Bellevue, WA and I used my personal things, such as the red runner and the brown pillows that came straight from my own bedroom!
