Home staging tip: “The wallpaper is one of the most personal decorative elements one can add to a home, but one of the main rules of home staging is that you must de-personalize the house to help the buyers visualize themselves in it. That means removing the wallpaper as well. However, this suggestion is not always welcomed by the seller, either for personal reasons or for economic ones (getting rid of wallpaper costs time and money). As a result, sometimes stagers have no other choice than to “play” with it. In this case, we tried to keep everything very simple by removing the rug and the curtains which also had a pattern. We made the table smaller (to have the chandelier centered to it) and filled the void by the window with an armoire, whose motif was in line with the pattern of the wallpaper”.
