Home staging tip: When you stage an occupied home, it often happens that you need to add some of your own accessories to the seller’s decor. My goal as a home stager is to always try to use the seller’s possessions first (I want my clients to save some money whenever it is possible!) and then I integrate with items that are either taken from my own inventory or from a rental company. For this staging, for example, I started with a consultation during which I told the seller what of his things I needed for the staging and what he could store in his garage. Since he spent many years abroad, lots of his furniture were quite exotic in style, which is why we tried to use a neutral bedding and lamps with very simple (modern) lines. The art was more classic but the gold frames matched the brass inserts of the nightstands. Eventually, the result was a mix of different styles that worked well together and gave the room a cohesive look.
