Home staging tip: To stage or not to stage, that is the question, and more specifically, to stage or not to stage secondary bedrooms. Usually, my answer is always no, unless the property is quite small and has only two bedrooms, and by that, I mean the master bedroom and one regular bedroom. But even in this case, if the seller has a limited budget, I never push them to stage the second bedroom. However, that doesn’t mean that a bedroom, just because it is secondary and is not as important as the master one, should be neglected. If occupied, it should still be presented in a nice and tidy way, and if empty, it should still be clean and have the right colors. In the example above, I helped the seller pick a neutral paint that would have been right for the sale. Also, since their daughter was off to college and wasn’t using the bedroom anymore, I suggested them to remove everything and just leave it empty. Quite a difference, don’t you think?
